Ten

I'll give you ten reasons why I love the word ribbistrate.

  1. It is not in the dictionary.
  2. My friend introduced me to it in the middle of a women's meeting lesson and then we all ribbistrated together.
  3. I chose it as my word for 2015.
  4. People do it when they are extra, extra excited.
  5. Nature does it best in the Spring.

      6. Songs incapsulate it within their lyrics.

Hello Sunshine, it's been too long since I felt your warmth on my face.
Oh, my lovely, shining for me
Let my eyes see all the beauty.

     7. Ribbistrating is really fun in the rain.

I did something you would not have thought

I grabbed my polka dot umbrella
And I opened the door

And I danced in the rain
I let my dreams know I hadn't forgotten them
I let my heart take the lead and
I told my hopes to get themselves up again
And I danced, I looked, yes I danced in the rain

I invited my worries to step aside
I needed room to see in front of me
As the raindrops fell on my overcoat
I let em roll right off of my back

And I waited for the rainbow
Cause Heaven and me we both know
This storm's gonna pass.

        8. I love to do it on a trampoline.
        9. You do when you feel good and it feels good to do it.
       10. Snoopy does it the best.

I write on Fridays with a large group who inspire me. Only five minutes and without much thought to perfection. I write, prompted by one word that sends my thoughts to the keyboard and hopefully make sense.

  1. That is such a fabulous song! Thanks for sharing it... it speaks particularly to this weather-battered Brit, who has more than her fair share of rain to contend with. It's particularly hard to be happy about it during the Summer months. Seeing it as something that 'washes my fears away' has really reframed it for me!

  2. Fun post! And now I'm totally going to have to go look up that word.

  3. Now that's an intriguing post! When I click my heels together, I think that qualifies doesn't it? I love that you're using it as your focus word this year!
