Hidden

Isaiah 48:6 Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.

Do I want to know new things which only come through revelation? That would be the definition of hidden things. Revelation from God which is not conceived in man. In the past when God has rocked my world I have resisted. If His perspective doesn't match with the social norm, I feel unstable. But, instability in the light is ever so much better than stability in the dark. To stumble within the light of truth is safer than to walk boldly through deception.

I write on Fridays with a group who commit to just 5 minutes of free writing a a selected word.

  1. This is so true! Thank you! I have been in the "dark room" with God for two years now, and He has revealed so much and planted my feet so much more firmly in His truth. I will take Him in the dark over anything! So glad I stopped by from Five Minute Friday! Blessings!

  2. Oh, YES! "To stumble within the light of truth is safer than to walk boldly through deception." That is filled with truth and gives me a good word picture. Thank you!

  3. This is great! It's true that revelation from God can be unsettling if it goes against our idea of what is "normal" but even if it's uncomfortable it is so much better to be walking in the light.

  4. GREAT thoughts, Gabriele! I know that feeling of instability when something God asks of me goes against social norms. I've been living that for the past few years. It's not always easy, but I guess I came to the point where I was okay with it. I loved what you said about walking with instability in God's light being better than stability in the dark. I'll be meditating on that. :)
